🐶 The hatchet is hand-forged and made from 1065 steel by a blacksmith with more than 30 years of experience. 🐶 Hand-forged 1065 Carbon steel with traditional coal fire quenching to HRC 52-55, the steelhead is struck many times and treat with oil mixed burning (blue surface scale). With the hardening square head, it also can play as a tent pegs hammer. Hand grinding blade to Asymmetrical semi-convex for a better balance between Tartness and Edge-holding ability. With razor sharpened 3 3/4” / 9.5 cm blade, it can also be used for meat processing in the wild.
🐶 The handle is made from the heartwood of Siberia beech, selected for minimal grain runout, and treated with wax that provides protection against moisture and helps resist slippage in the hand. Both wood and steel wedges are applied to fasten the steelhead to the handle. The length of the handle is 9 1/2” / 24.5 cm, the ergonomic Curve design gives you the perfect feel and balance in cutting & slicing.

Looks good, handle short and loose

I like the shape and look of this hatchet. Note that it's made in China, which I didn't find obvious from the listing. The handle was loose on arrival, so needed to hammer in one of the included wedges, not a deal breaker.

Used it on a camping trip - with the short handle it's not great at splitting kindling off of cordwood, but serves nicely for shaving feather sticks, or breaking kindling down smaller. Fun if you need a light-weight tool but you probably need a heavier axe/hatchet to supplement it. Works as a replacement for a camp knife, maybe?

Neat little hatchet. Only issue was the head was loose when I received it, resulting in me needing to add a third wedge to it. Not a big deal, but I feel that it should be solid before applying oil to the handle. My friend who bought the same hatchet had the same experience.

Good product

Great little axe. Came razor sharp. Not a fan of the size of the handle or the way it curves. It could be a few inches longer and a straighter handle and would give 5 stars
