Really nice, seems solid (only time will tell). But it did need a bit of sharpening out of the box.

Oh boy this hatchet sure does alot of whacking and hacking. I used it to chop some parsley for my chocolate noodle stew today and it performed excellent. I like the little imprints it has on the side of the axe head to remind you that the great mastiff is watching over us always. I've sharpened the handle to use as a tooth pick which is something I generally do with most of my tools that have a wood handle and the wood held up nicely. I will recommend this to both of my friends!

Nicely balanced and weighted for easy single hand use. The grip area of the handle is the perfect hatchet diameter and not too thick like some short axes. The head came plastic wrapped to prevent rusting and perhaps against wood shrinkage that might loosen the head. There was a slight film of dried linseed oil on the head but that was easily removed with thinners and a razor blade and I have no problem with this overall.
The blades cutting edge is supper sharp to a Chrome like finish which looks great with the steel embossed logo.
Overall a nice hatchet for making kindling and light limbing and I’m very happy to have it !
